Antique 1950s Red & White STOP Sign
USD 75.00
Color History: The very first stop signs (1915) were white squares with black letters. In 1924, they were standardized to black letters on a yellow background to enhance visibility, especially at night. It was not until 1954, when durable, fade-resistant porcelain enamel and reflective materials became available, that the modern red and white stop sign became the national standard.
