A superb collection of all the 1d red plates issued between 1864 and 1879. These are SG43 1d red, plates 71-225 (excluding the very rare plate 77), so 152 stamps in total (plates 69, 70, 75, 126 and 128 were rejected and withdrawn). Plate 225 is also rare to find, and has a catalogue value of £700 alone for this stamp. Stamps have the Large Crown watermark (W4). The entire plate collection has a Stanley Gibbons RRP of £1,900 based on the 2025 catalogue. All stamps are in very good to fine condition. Please refer to scans for condition. Plate 225 has been photographed separately, in fine condition, showing a numeral cancellation '85' indicating Bishops Waltham, Hampshire. A must have for any QV stamp collector.
