The main value of this book is the fact that it was published in 1974 as a very deeply researched piece of reference that can be used for authentication of American art pottery. Even though it was published a long time ago, nothing really has changed in terms of using this book to identify particular marks and to help you evaluate what the piece you’re looking at is and how much it might be worth. Nice thing about a book like this is it’s visual so you can flip through the pages and kind of identify the theme of the work you’re looking at rather than knowing exactly what to search for. It’s definitely a good addition to anybody’s reference library when they need to know for sure what they have.
