Ancient large religious statue from the Gothic period in resinous wood, carved, stuccoed and polychrome from the north of France around 1450/1500, representing a pieta. Beautiful and moving devotional sculpture where the seated virgin holds the dead Christ on her knees. Remains of brown and ocher polychromy, some visible gaps, old treated wormholes, from a beautiful collection of religious objects currently on sale.
