Superb period engraving printed in 1846 in the Combette workshops in Paris. The illustrations of the places and traditions of the department around the map were created by the painter Raymond Bonheur, father of the painter and sculptor Rosa Bonheur. Note that the district boundaries have been enhanced in color by hand (in the publisher's workshops) in order to highlight the administrative boundaries of the three districts, twenty-four cantons and the municipalities from the 1846 census.
