Tested and guaranteed to be bakelite. It is 11 1/4" long (total) and the bakelite handle is 3 3/8" long. The metal is STAINLESS STEEL with light use and cleaning wear......no rust/pitting..... functions perfectly......... The bakelite handle has no chips, cracks, crazing or burn marks.....
